You could take the child to work with you, you can get them to help you fix things that need repaired, and take them shopping with you.
Fathers should fully support the child as an individual. It is very important to ensure that the child realizes that you are proud of them and the choices that they make. If they happen to do something that you are not happy with, explain the reasons why and how they can learn from those things. When you discipline your children, make sure you do it in a calm and reflective manner. Force can impose negative reactions and really does not seem to solve many problems. Try to avoid telling your children that you lack the time to spend with them. No matter how good the reasoning may be for this, chances are that children will not appreciate it. This could even lead the child to believe that they are not as important as whatever it is you may be doing. This can also result in a loss of self-esteem for the child and lead to disciplinary problems with the child.
