If you need a break, do not be afraid to express that to your partner, friends, and family. Most of the time people are completely willing to help and it does not reflect in a negative way on you.
Another thing to keep in mind is that not all newborns come out perfect in the beginning. The truth is some of them may even look a little odd. This is not permanent. Many new fathers experience a little anxiety when they see their child after birth because there may be extra wrinkles, the skin may be red, or their head may have an odd shape. This is all perfectly normal for a newborn. They went through a lot when they were born, and they may show that in physical features. Most of the time, these types of features will disappear in a few days or weeks.
